Seefeld Plateau is a high Alpine plateau in Tyrol, Austria, sitting at about 1,200 meters (3,937 feet). It's famous for cross-country skiing - the region hosted the Nordic events during the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics - and in summer you can hike the Via Alpina trail through wildflower meadows. Winters are snowy and cold, often dropping to 23°F (-5°C), but the groomed ski trails are perfect for gliding, while July highs around 72°F (22°C) make for pleasant mountain biking or swimming at Lake Wildsee.
